The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the sidelines of the meeting of the heads of the foreign ministries of NATO member states in Brussels on December 4 stated that Ukraine will not abandon bilateral security agreements signed with other states.

This was reported by NBN with reference to the publication European Pravda.

According to the diplomat, these agreements are not an alternative to our country's membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. In addition, security agreements are a tool for increasing assistance to Ukraine on its path to the military-political bloc.

The head of the Foreign Ministry explained that the recent statement by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry speaks of the position of unacceptability for Kyiv of any substitutes for the integration of our state into the Alliance. Bilateral security agreements do not fall under this definition.

Earlier, Western media found out which NATO member countries are still against Ukraine's accession to the organization.
