The press service of the OPU reported that on December 5, the head of state held a telephone conversation with the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance. The politicians discussed the situation on the front in Ukraine and NATO's next steps to support the country, the NBN newspaper writes.

The President told the head of the military-political bloc about the course of hostilities, in particular in the Eastern direction, and the offensive of the Defense Forces in the Kursk region.

In this context, the guarantor noted the importance of the effective use of long-range artillery provided by partners by the defenders. Zelensky expects the allies to ensure an uninterrupted supply of 155-mm ammunition.

In addition, the politicians discussed the intensification of the implementation of the decisions taken at the NATO summit in Washington, in particular the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense, especially during the cold season.

During the conversation with the Secretary General of the Alliance, the head of state also noted the importance of Ukraine's integration into NATO.

Earlier, Rutte commented on Zelensky's statement about the need to take part of Ukraine under the “umbrella” of the military-political bloc.
