The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation commented on the Kremlin dictator’s promises to deploy the Oreshnik missile system on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. the Oreshnik complex, the NBN publication reports.

According to him, this “show” is another horror story, the effectiveness of which the Russian leader was convinced of by the First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko and the former director of the FSB Nikolai Patrushev.

Kovalenko noted that Putin's statements are an information operation, in addition, the deployment of the Oreshnik in Belarus does not increase the danger for our country or NATO, since it makes no difference whether the missile flies from the Russian city of Kapustin Yar or from the Republic of Belarus. Talk about a shorter flight time for the weapon is an attempt to intimidate the civilian population.

The lieutenant added that Moscow wants to raise the stakes of fear propaganda against Western countries, and since the deployment of nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory did not work, it is trying to influence public sentiment with the help of the Oreshnik. At the same time, Putin is trying to hide the fact that one of the two launches from this missile system has already been unsuccessful.

Recall that last week, Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko asked the head of the Kremlin to deploy the Oreshnik systems in his country.
