The economist in an interview with the publication “RBK-Ukraine” reported that it is easier for Ukrainians from vulnerable categories, such as pensioners and mothers with children, to survive in European countries, so they will not return home because of the payments, writes “NBN”.
According to her, now in Europe they are quite loyal to citizens of Ukraine – they are not given strict conditions for employment or working certain hours to receive free housing, social benefits. However, this will not continue forever.
Cherenko noted that the host countries will try to retain Ukrainians even after the end of the war with the Russian Federation, but the authorities will not be able to justify large amounts of budget expenditure in the long term.
The specialist is convinced that citizens who had a good career before the war will return to their homeland, and are forced to earn money abroad in low-skilled jobs.
The doctor of economic sciences added that Kyiv cannot compete with other countries for people with money. However, business programs for different social categories would help return refugees home.
Recall that the KIIS social survey showed how many Ukrainians and under what conditions intend to return from Europe.
