On Sunday, December 15, during a television broadcast, the head of Slovakia said that Kyiv and Moscow need to immediately sit down at the negotiating table. According to him, when it comes to peace in Ukraine, “we need to be realistic,” the NBN newspaper reports, citing Denník N and STVR.

The president said that he receives daily information about the situation on the front in Ukraine, adding that Russian troops are advancing there. The politician claims that, given the successes of the invaders, “among sensible people” in Europe, no one believes that Kyiv will be able to achieve peace without partial territorial losses.

The head of state called on Ukraine and Russia to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible to end hostilities.

Recall that several months ago, the Slovak leader complained about NATO deliveries of air defense systems to Ukraine. Pellegrini claimed that due to the provision of such military aid to Kyiv, there would allegedly not be enough air defense systems for members of the North Atlantic Alliance, in particular his country.
