Biden administration won't have time to provide Ukraine with $5.6 billion in military aid — media

Newly elected President Donald Trump, who will be inaugurated on January 20, 2025, is deeply skeptical of American support for Ukraine and will likely “quickly end the war” by refusing to finance Kyiv.

As NBN reports with reference to The New York Times, the current White House administration, judging by everything, will not be able to allocate the remaining $5.6 billion in military aid to Ukraine in a timely manner, that is, by January 20 next year.

According to an unspecified Pentagon official, the Biden administration will announce the provision of an additional aid package to Ukraine (approved by the Lower House of Congress) by the end of December 2024, but will not be able to quickly transfer $5.6 billion, since the White House is only able to use part of the specified amounts covered by the authority.

Thus, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) will transfer some of its stockpiles to Ukraine, instead of waiting for months or years for permission from the new White House administration, distributing only the $1.2 billion remaining within the framework of the “Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative” so that Kyiv buys weapons/ammunition directly from the American military-industrial complex.

Earlier, we wrote about the fact that the US State Department reported that Ukraine will receive in the new military aid package.
