In Ukraine, the prices of “social basket” products are rising: what are the current prices for bread, eggs and buckwheat

Ukrainians now have to carefully compare the cost of products in supermarkets, as the price difference can be noticeable, and also track attractive promotional offers.

As NBN reports with reference to statistics from the Ministry of Finance portal, the current month has seen a continuous increase in the cost of basic food products, if we compare it with November, and we are talking about traditional bread, chicken eggs and buckwheat.

“Psheniy” bread has become more expensive by approximately 5 hryvnia: in November, a 0.65-kilogram loaf cost about 35 hryvnia, and in the last ten days of December, the average price rose to 40 hryvnia. Prices for “Tsar-Khleb” weighing 0.6 kilograms have also changed – from 33.28 hryvnia in November to 36.57 hryvnia in December.

A dozen eggs of the Kvochka brand jumped in price from UAH 72.94 to UAH 78.4, and Yasensvita packages of 10, 18 and 30 pieces – from UAH 70.26 to UAH 79.43, from UAH 122.75 to UAH 135.67 and from UAH 194.63 to UAH 235.9, respectively.

The cost of buckwheat showed identical dynamics: the price of a kilogram increased from UAH 31.29 to UAH 33.02 (from UAH 27.9 in Auchan to UAH 40 in MegaMarket).
