Recently, the Defense Forces managed to advance in the Pokrovsk direction (Donetsk region), recapturing some positions from the “second army in the world.”

As NBN reports with reference to the material of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russian occupation forces are not abandoning their attempts to advance on this section of the Donetsk front.
According to geolocation footage released on December 20, the Ukrainian army recaptured the captured bridgehead in the southern part of Peschanoye (southwest of Pokrovsk). At the same time, Russian “war correspondents” claimed that the “liberators” were allegedly able to move along the T-0515 Yasenovo-Constantinople highway, south of the regional center.
However, based on statements from another “mouthpiece of the Kremlin,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to counterattack Putin’s troops in the Pokrovsk area, taking advantage of the enemy’s shortage of armored vehicles and tanks in this frontline area. In particular, several days ago, the occupiers carried out a “cut-down” motorized company assault, using 8 civilian vehicles east of the village of Ukrainka.
Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War believe that the above-described actions of the occupiers indicate that the Russian generals are consistently demonstrating their willingness to forego costly losses of armored vehicles in exchange for slow and depleting successes on the front lines in Ukraine.
