Tykhyi commented on the article by the Spanish publication El on his page on the social network X (former Twitter) Pais. The article states that Kyiv is allegedly demanding that the EU stop providing refugees with assistance and consular services to men of draft age.

The journalists also clarified that the Ukrainian leadership wants to return up to 10 million citizens home in this way, NBN reports.

The spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said that some of the statements in the Spanish media outlet's article are incorrect. The official said that Kyiv is not negotiating with the EU regarding reducing assistance to migrants in the organization's member countries.

Tikhyi also recalled that men of draft age have access to consular services in accordance with current legislation.

The ministry representative added that the Ukrainian authorities are pursuing the goal of creating not obstacles, but positive motivation for citizens to return home voluntarily.

Earlier, an expert explained why Ukrainian refugees will return from Europe.
