Not long ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky assured that taking control of the Russian Kursk region would force the Kremlin to begin negotiations on ending the war.

As NBN reports with reference to Associated Press sources, in the Ukrainian military command, the Defense Forces of our country, due to the significant depletion of combat potential, judging by everything, will lose a significant part of the captured territory in the Kursk region.

Based on the data provided by sources, the fighting in the Kursk region is so intense that some Ukrainian commanders are unable to ensure the evacuation of their dead subordinates (we are talking about at least 20 defenders).

In addition, delays in contacting headquarters, as well as untimely chosen tactics and a certain disorientation, cost the lives of soldiers, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces have virtually no opportunity to carry out counterattacks, since the Russian generals have concentrated a group of more than 50,000 servicemen in this region, not excluding North Korean troops.

In particular, countermeasures by Putin's army have already led to the death and injury of thousands of Ukrainian servicemen – the exhausted Defense Forces have lost at least 40 percent of the territory of the Kursk region (of the captured in August).

Also, one of the platoon commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that he repeatedly asked the higher command to review the defensive position of his unit, since he was not able to hold the bridgehead, but these requests were rejected.

However, the Ukrainian military emphasized:

…We will fight here… If we simply retreat to our borders, they [the occupiers] will not stop, they will continue to advance.

Earlier we wrote about South Korean intelligence revealing the real losses of North Korean soldiers in Kursk.
