As reported by NBN with reference to the official page of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, with the arrival of the new year, upon the first registration of a car, the rate of the mandatory pension fee will remain unchanged, since the amount of the subsistence minimum (SM) is fixed at a “frozen” indicator of 3,028 hryvnia.
In accordance with the data of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the amount of the pension fee is calculated as a percentage of the price of the vehicle, excluding value-added tax (VAT). Thus, the specified rate in the current year will remain as follows:
- 3 percent — if the cost of the car is equal to/does not exceed 499,620 UAH (165 PM);
- 4 percent — if the cost of the car is in the price range from 499,620 to 878,120 UAH (from 165 to 290 PM);
- 5 percent — if the cost of the car exceeds 878,120 UAH (290 PM).
It should be noted that such payment rules affect both new and used cars that are registered in Ukraine for the first time.
