The Verkhovna Rada has extended the deadline for voluntary return from AWOL

In August, the Verkhovna Rada approved a law that proposed not to punish the first unauthorized absence from a military unit (SOCh/SZCh) if the defender returned on his own, and the command allowed the violator to continue serving.

As NBN reports with reference to information posted on the official Telegram profile of the Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk, today, January 9, the Verkhovna Rada approved an extension of the deadline for the return to service of those military personnel who committed SOC/SZCH or simply deserted.

Based on Vereshchuk's words, the defenders will now be able to return to fulfill their military duty until March 1, 2025. In particular, after voluntary arrival at the place of service, the period of the contract will not be permanently interrupted, but only renewed.

It should be noted that the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) stated that military personnel who began service in the above-described manner are guaranteed the restoration of all social guarantees, that is, the payment of “combat” ones.

Earlier, our information portal wrote that the National Guard talked about the situation and tactics of Putin's troops in the Zaporizhia direction.
