An expert answered whether Ukraine will have enough gas to supply the population after the stop of transit from Russia

As reported by “NBN” with reference to the material of “Ukrainian Radio”, according to the former general director of the LLC “Operator of the GTS of Ukraine” Sergey Makogon, domestic household consumers will not experience problems with the supply of “blue fuel”, since Ukraine has accumulated large reserves of the resource in underground storage facilities.

Based on Makogon's words, the stoppage of gas transportation did not come as a surprise, since the Russian Federation has repeatedly blocked the transit of “blue fuel” (in 2006 and 2009), and Ukraine managed to prepare for such difficulties by rebuilding the system of pumping the resource “not only from the east to the west, but also in the opposite direction, from the west, where our storage facilities are located.”

In addition, the expert emphasized that “blue fuel” has been pumped in sufficient volumes, and no “rolling blackouts” are expected. Also, Ukraine is able to extract additional natural fuel through its own deposits, that is, “there will be no problems with gas supply to the population.”

Earlier, our information portal wrote that the United States calculated the losses of the Russian Federation due to the termination of gas transit through Ukraine to Europe.
