In an interview with OBOZ.UA, the former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that even if our country receives an invitation to NATO, the process of integration into the North Atlantic Alliance itself may drag on for a long time due to the position of some member states of the organization, NBN reports.

According to him, the leadership of Germany, Hungary and Slovakia fears the outbreak of World War III due to Ukraine's membership in the bloc, but this problem is artificial, because the Russian Federation was not very worried about the expansion of the Alliance by adding Sweden and Finland.

The diplomat explained that the Kremlin's desire to make Ukraine a neutral state is explained by its desire to completely occupy it, and this will be easier to do if the country is deprived of protection and weakened as much as possible.

Considering this, as Ohryzko notes, Kyiv must convey to the Donald Trump administration at all levels that there is no threat of World War III and that Ukraine should have security from the Russian Federation, which threatens not only it. The former minister added that half measures would only push the Kremlin dictator to continue his aggression.

Recall that last week, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded to Trump's words about Putin's “concern” over our country's membership in NATO.
