The head of the foreign policy department in an interview with the publication “European Pravda” said that the ban on direct talks with the Kremlin dictator for Ukraine remains in force, NBN reports.

The journalist asked the minister whether Ukraine's position on this issue had changed, given the intention of the newly elected US President Donald Trump to end the war as soon as possible. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured that the decision of the National Security and Defense Council not to hold direct talks with Putin is still in effect.

The diplomat noted that for our country, the only effective guarantee of security is integration into NATO. In addition, Ukraine's accession to the bloc will guarantee the security of the North Atlantic Alliance itself, in particular, member states in Europe.

Recall that in the fall of 2022, the head of state put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the impossibility of holding talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

As reported, Kremlin aide Nikolai Patrushev said in an interview with Russian media that only Moscow and Washington should negotiate on Ukraine.
