As NBN reports with reference to the analysis of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Defense Forces have somewhat pushed through the defense of Putin's army on the territory of the Russian Kursk region.
Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War pointed out that recently, Ukrainian Armed Forces units advanced near the “main salient” in the Kursk region: in geolocation footage from January 15-16, one can see that the defenders retreated from the international Ukrainian-Russian border, approaching the central areas of Uspenovka (south of the village of Korenevo).
At the same time, the claims of one of the unnamed so-called “Russian war correspondents” about the movement of Putin’s troops north and northeast of Makhnovka (located south of Sudzha) are not confirmed by ISW military experts.
Also, an unspecified Russian source complained that Ukrainian Armed Forces units successfully counterattacked the “liberators” in the vicinity of Makhnovka.
