Galushchenko answered whether Ukraine is preparing to increase electricity tariffs

Not long ago, the Ministry of Energy assured that from June 1, 2025, there are no plans to raise the cost of electricity for the population to 6.68 hryvnia per kilowatt/hour, but such a denial is somewhat untrue.

As reported by NBN with reference to the material from Espresso, the head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Galushchenko, made a statement – international partners are interested in raising electricity tariffs.

Based on Galushchenko's words, a number of discussions are currently underway with the IMF and other partners, pushing Ukraine to revise the limitation of price caps (maximum prices), which, naturally, will immediately affect pricing on the domestic market, in particular, will affect the business sector.

However, the head of the energy department added – in fact, the tariff set for the current heating season (ends in April 2025) is not supposed to be increased, but only for the population, since it is still possible to regulate the financial market without accumulating debt in this segment.

Earlier, our information portal wrote about the fact that an expert said when the cost of electricity for the population will be increased to 9 UAH per kilowatt.
