Minimal contact with Russian intelligence services in Poland is considered espionage, but since January 2025, the military intelligence of the aggressor country has been actively searching for dissatisfied people among the local population in order to persuade them to side with Moscow.

How NBN reports, citing RMF-FM material, that the head of the Ministry of Digitalization of the neighboring country, Krzysztof Gawkowski, made a statement: the special services of the terrorist state are trying to find Poles to destabilize the situation in Poland before the presidential elections scheduled for May 18, 2025.
Based on Gawkowski’s words, the Russian Federation will task such recruited Poles with intensively sowing contradictory information on the Internet, that is, simply, to conduct a disinformation campaign in the Polish Internet space.
In particular, the corresponding structures in Poland have sufficient information confirming that Russian spies are making contact with groups of local specialists in the DarkNet (hidden resources of the Internet), through which the Kremlin pays the Poles to commit “actions against their state.”
However, Gavkovsky added that any type of cooperation with foreign intelligence services in Poland is subject to criminal liability, including imprisonment.
