As reported by NBN with reference to the January “Inflation Report” published on the official website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the size of real salaries of Ukrainians during 2024 increased by more than 14 percent.

In particular, since the 3rd quarter of 2024, the dynamics of growth of real wages exceeded pre-war indicators in most sectors of the economy, reaching 14.2 percent, however, in the 4th quarter the rate of increase decreased to a less significant level, both due to the influence of inflation and a smaller shortage of “labor force”.

According to the assessment of the regulatory bank (NBU), during 2024, nominal wages grew by 22 percent, and real wages, taking into account the inflation index, by 14.4 percent.

At the same time, NBU analysts believe that in 2025, the nominal wages of Ukrainians will grow by 16.7 percent (according to the previous forecast – by 16 percent), and real wages – by 3.8 percent (instead of 6.5 percent). Thus, the average salary this year will reach UAH 24,800.

In addition, the NBU is confident that starting next year, 2026, the nominal salary level will grow by 10.6 percent, real salary by 4.2 percent, and in 2027 by 8 percent and 3 percent, respectively.

Earlier, we wrote that experts explained whether the increase in the NBU key rate will affect the pace of inflation.
