The head of the Luxembourg Foreign Policy Ministry Luxembourg's foreign ministry, commenting on the trade policy of the 47th US president, said that the American leader “eats the weak.” At the same time, Bettel noted that Trump is “losing his appetite for Europe.”

The diplomat believes that European countries should act in the following way in relation to the head of the White House: be strong and united, writes “NBN” with reference to the British publication The Guardian.

“America first” does not mean that America is alone,” the minister noted, adding that the US also needs partners.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that the consequences of any trade war in Washington will hit the Americans, which would hardly be the goal of the head of state.

The politician recalled that he worked with the Republican for years and “survived,” so he is convinced that European countries will also “survive.” The economies of these countries will be strong, since it is not in the interests of EU members to weaken their allies.

At the same time, the diplomat did not rule out that the bloc will have to “defend itself” by taking retaliatory measures if the American president comes out against the organization.

As reported, the Kremlin is unhappy with the proposal of the head of the White House to send weapons to Ukraine in exchange for its valuable raw materials.
