A serviceman who was present at the training ground in Dnipropetrovsk region during the missile strike told Suspilna journalists on condition of anonymity that a reconnaissance UAV of the invaders was “hovering” at the checkpoint from 10:00 that day, the NBN publication writes.
According to him, at 15:00 they called out the specific names of the fighters and for some unknown reason they were brought out to line up at the checkpoint. 20 minutes later, the Russian occupiers attacked the training ground. The enemy used a new modification of the Iskander missile with cluster munitions for the shelling.
The media source also reported that before the arrival, the fighters heard the sound of a helicopter, but it was not flying low, so they could not understand whose it was.
As a result of the attack, many soldiers were seriously injured due to flying shrapnel. According to him, there were no turnstiles. An ambulance immediately arrived to take the victims. The soldier noted that he was lucky, since he simply twisted his leg.
Earlier, a serviceman with the call sign “Hutsul” also told journalists that there was a Russian reconnaissance drone over the training ground. He said that there were officers and soldiers there who had returned from the SZCh, the 168th reserve battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Hutsul” added that the command was warned about the appearance of an enemy “bird” over the training ground, but the military's appeal was ignored.
Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, responded to the attack of the Russian Armed Forces on the training ground in Dnepropetrovsk region.
