Ukrainian politicians Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko responded to a Western media publication about their contacts with representatives of the Donald Trump administration.

The American publication Politico, citing an American Republican foreign policy expert and three Ukrainian parliamentarians, stated that Tymoshenko and senior members of Poroshenko's party held secret talks with representatives of the Trump administration.
According to media reports, the White House is seriously determined to remove Zelensky from the post of head of state, writes NBN.
The former Prime Minister of Ukraine commented on the publication of the American media on her Facebook page. Tymoshenko stated that our country is ready for the negotiation process to end the war under the strong leadership of the US President.
The politician noted that the Batkivshchyna party team is negotiating with all allies who are able to help achieve peace as soon as possible. The former head of government added that holding any elections during the war is out of the question.
In turn, the fifth president of Ukraine said that his team is publicly and transparently working with American partners so that the US strengthens sanctions against the Russian Federation and provides the Ukrainian Armed Forces with more weapons. The former head of state recalled that he proposed that the country's leadership coordinate these meetings.
Poroshenko said his team supports holding elections only after the end of hostilities and the signing of a peace agreement with security guarantees for Ukraine.
Earlier, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba explained why Trump is in a hurry to reach a peace agreement between Kiev and Moscow.
