As reported by NBN with reference to the official page of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the “second army of the world” has used ammunition containing dangerous chemical compounds at least 6,900 times.
According to the words of the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Defense and Environmental Safety of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Valeriy Weber, during the entire period of the large-scale war, the relevant domestic structures had to provide the necessary medical assistance to almost 3,400 Ukrainian defenders diagnosed with signs of poisoning by unknown chemical substances with which the occupiers “stuffed” the ammunition.
The military added that the participants of this event in Žilina were able to familiarize themselves with international experience, gaining in-depth knowledge and understanding of the operation of legal instruments, thanks to the analysis of the norms of national and international legislation (conventions, amendments and other obligations).
