As reported by NBN with reference to the Reuters agency, the administration of US President Donald Trump has planned to cancel the temporary legal status [protection] for almost 240,000 Ukrainian refugees, which could potentially become a reason for the deportation of our fellow citizens.

Based on information available to the agency, such a step could be taken by the White House as early as April. At the same time, the process of curtailing the protection of Ukrainians began before the head of the White House, Donald Trump, entered into a spat with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Reuters sources clarified that such measures are part of the Trump team's efforts and are aimed at “delegalizing” the stay in the United States of more than 1.8 million migrants who entered the country under temporary humanitarian programs launched during the Biden administration.

As such, migrants will soon face expedited deportation proceedings, according to an internal email received by ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

Earlier, we wrote that Poroshenko and Tymoshenko commented on their contacts with representatives of the Trump administration.
