The head of the White House, on his page on the social network Truth Social, threatened the aggressor country with new major sanctions for the period until Kyiv and Moscow agree on a ceasefire, writes the publication NBN.
The American leader noted that Russia is “absolutely beating” Ukraine on the battlefield. Given this fact, the US President decided to consider the possibility of introducing “large-scale” banking sanctions, tariffs and other coercive measures against the terrorist state until a peaceful settlement is reached.
The politician called on the Russian and Ukrainian leadership to sit down at the negotiating table right now, before it is too late.
The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, responded to Trump's words on his Telegram channel. The representative of Kyiv noted that the Russian Federation should feel economic and other restrictions if it does not stop attacking our country.
The head of the OPU added that the Russians must immediately stop striking Ukraine if Moscow really wants to end the war.
Zelensky was reportedly asked whether the president would apologize to Trump for the dispute at the White House meeting.
