Media found out how many Russians deserted from Putin's army during three years of war

At least 5 percent of mobilized Russian soldiers fled from their place of service, which, however, did not provoke a collapse or the removal of the command of Putin's troops.

As NBN reports with reference to Forbes material, more than 50,000 Russian military personnel have deserted/voluntarily left their units since the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

According to analysts, the rate of desertion of Russians varied throughout the war: initially, the figures were quite low, but later began to increase against the backdrop of the successful counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (autumn 2022).

However, after the unsuccessful counter-offensive actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the summer of 2023, the level of desertion briefly decreased, but subsequently the situation “evened out” again, as Putin’s troops continued a slow and ineffective offensive in most areas, ignoring the colossal losses they were suffering.

In addition, experts added that the total losses of the terrorist state in the current war amounted to 560,000 units of “manpower”: these figures include the dead, seriously wounded and deserters (the flight from the ranks of the “second army of the world” has now reached 10 percent of the number of Russian troops).

Earlier we wrote that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are allowing for a rapid retreat from the Kursk region in the coming weeks.
