Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky evaluated the 15-minute one-on-one meeting with US President Donald Trump in the Vatican as more productive than the official talks in the Oval Office, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to the ABC News.
Commenting on the events during the public meeting at the White House, Zelensky admitted that the conversation was difficult for him. At the same time, the brief private discussion without other attendees in the Vatican, he said, went better.
“I would like to believe that we (with Trump) have normal professional relations. However, I lack enough contacts with President Trump to assess our personal relationship,” Zelensky noted.
He emphasized his desire to have more opportunities for direct communication with the American leader. According to the Ukrainian president, such contacts require both time and proper conditions.
“Fifteen minutes in the Vatican one-on-one gave more than the meeting in a large group of people in the Oval Office,” Volodymyr Zelensky concluded.
