The OCU explained that the church myth regarding women in trousers appeared due to misinterpretation or ignorance of Scripture, says WomanEL.
As reported on the OCU Facebook page, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine does not prohibit women and girls from entering churches and attending services in pants or with their heads uncovered.
There is no such prohibition in our Church. And in other Orthodox churches in the world, similar rules that now prohibit women in trousers from coming to churches do not exist. For our clergy, what matters is not what clothes a person wears when he comes to church. The main thing is with what desires and spiritual needs,
noted in the message.
The OCU also notes that modern women’s trousers cannot be considered a man’s outfit. Therefore, priests urge people not to waste time on useless disputes and prohibitions. And don’t judge others by their appearance, especially during the war.
We used to read a prayer for the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian heroes.
