A new initiative is starting in Ukraine, aimed at addressing the shortage of bus drivers and expanding opportunities for women in the transport sector, according to WomanEL. With the support of the UN and with the support of Sweden, free courses will be launched for women who want to enter the profession of city and municipal transport drivers. The press service of the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territory and Infrastructure informs about this.

The project is being implemented by the community organization “Foundation of the Institutional Development”. The main method is the retraining and retraining of women for work in the field of public transport. This will not help to change the shortage of personnel, but also to accept gender stereotypes in this profession.
