In 2004, the top three leaders included “Final Fantasy”, “World of Warcraft” and “Need for Speed: Underground 2”. However, until the beginning of 2008, WoW was in first place with the great wind, and the top 3 was closed by GTA 4 and San Andreas.
In 2012, “Minecraft”, “Skyrim” and that same “World of Warcraft” were at the peak of popularity. After another 4 years, “Minecraft” changed its position, and the top three were followed by “Fallout 4” and “League of Legends”.
Until 2020, “Roblox” took first place, leaving behind “Minecraft” and “ Call of Duty: Warzone.” However, until the beginning of 2024, “Minecraft” turned to the bottom, “Roblox” fell into another row in the ranking, and “Fortnite” was on the third.
2024 became special for gamers due to the release of a great number of long-term projects, new parts of cult series and the emergence of new genres. And a significant breakthrough in the sphere of virtual reality has made it possible to create incredibly realistic and immersive worlds. Among the different categories, these games are considered the most popular:
