27-year-old Ukrainian singer KHAYAT (Andriy Khayat) has made the longlist of participants in the National Selection for Eurovision 2025, reports WomanEL.
Subscribers asked the performer on Instagram about the competition composition, fellow competitors, and his past words that he would not participate in the selection during the war.
I am a person who lives by my feelings, and what I said a year ago or 4 years ago about my participation has nothing to do with my current state, motives, and moods. I don't see anything strange in expressing my thoughts according to my feelings at the moment,
replied KHAYAT.
For a long time, this question was not relevant for the singer, because Andriy had nothing to offer the competition, especially during the war.
I didn't write specifically for the competition and didn't plan to participate this year, but the song decided everything for me and gave me a reason to return,
added the performer.
KHAYAT returned to the national selection because he has something to say from his country and something to believe in.
You should expect character, determination, and strength from the artist's track.
As for the competitors, Andriy noted:
Each participant is talented and worthy, if they are in this 20-something and I don't see the point in wasting my resources to “beat” someone, because I don't have anything to prove to anyone.
KHAYAT is focused on its own creativity and participation, not on competing with others.
