Google has launched a new experimental feature called Daily Listen as part of its Search Labs platform, WomanEL has learned. It allows users to receive personalized mini-podcasts lasting a few minutes. These audio selections include top news stories and topics that interest you, 9to5Google reports.
The feature is available in the Google app on Android and iOS and is located in a special tab. Daily Listen offers a convenient player with text accompaniment, where you can adjust the playback speed, rewind or skip to the next story. In addition, links to news sources are available under each podcast to learn more.
Currently, Daily Listen is being tested in the US, and the first episode becomes available a day after you connect to the feature. This project is based on the use of generative artificial intelligence, which Google is actively developing.
Last September, Google introduced a similar AI feature in NotebookLM, which allows you to convert text notes into podcasts. A similar idea was later implemented by Meta.
The Daily Listen feature is another step towards an individualized user experience that combines news, technology, and artificial intelligence.
