Have you ever regretted not having prepared tissues before watching a movie? Kleenex, a company known for its paper products, together with IMDb, decided to fix this situation. They created The Kleenex Score – a rating of films and cartoons that evoke the strongest emotions, writes WomanEL.
Now viewers can know in advance whether they will have to hold back their tears or whether it is better to immediately prepare a box of tissues. IMDb has even launched a separate selection of Tearjerker Titles. It contains the most emotional stories – from romantic dramas to family cartoons, which will touch even the harshest critic.
Each film gets its own “teardrop” — a rating from 0 to 5, which shows how much it is capable of moving the viewer. If a film has five tears, be prepared for a real emotional storm, the development team explains.
Audience reaction to the rating has been mostly positive, with many admitting they wish they had known about The Kleenex Score sooner — before watching the films that left them heartbroken.
IMDb also allows users to choose movies according to their preferences: romantic dramas, stories of loss, family adventures, or even stories that bring both laughter and tears.
So if you're planning to watch something moving, check out The Kleenex Score — maybe it'll save you from an unexpected emotional shock.
