Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke on the phone with Oleksandr Usyk, who was detained.

“I was outraged by such an attitude towards our citizen and champion,” Zelensky wrote.

The President instructed the Ministers of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiga and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko to immediately look into all the details of the incident at the Krakow airport.

“I was just informed that everything is fine, our champion was released and no one is detaining him anymore,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.

  • On the evening of September 17, Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik was arrested in Poland.
  • Subsequently, Alexander Usik’s wife Kateryna assured that everything was fine with her husband and there was nothing criminal.
