U.S. House Approves Continued Military Aid to Ukraine

The U.S. House of Representatives supported bill HR4016, which extends military aid to Ukraine. The proposal now heads to the Senate for further consideration.

The U.S. House of Representatives has voted to extend military assistance to Ukraine by supporting bill HR4016. A total of 353 lawmakers voted in favor, while 76 opposed the motion, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Don Bacon.

The bipartisan support allows the bill to proceed to the U.S. Senate, where it may be amended, passed without changes, or rejected entirely. If approved by the Senate, the legislation will be submitted to the President for signing.

The passage of HR4016 would secure the continued provision of U.S. weapons and military equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier, on July 14, U.S. President Donald Trump, during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, announced plans to provide Ukraine with billions of dollars’ worth of weapons. He said the weapons would be purchased by NATO, and mentioned Patriot air defense systems among the equipment expected to be delivered.

Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with Russia’s recent intensification of aerial attacks on Ukraine. He added that the United States plans to impose 100% secondary tariffs if a peace deal is not reached within 50 days.
