31-year-old Ukrainian actor Artur Lohai shared the details of an unfortunate incident that occurred to him at a climbing wall. On his Instagram, he explained that he lost a finger during an active recreation session at a climbing wall in a shopping mall. The incident happened three weeks ago when Lohai arrived at the climbing wall to spend time with his wife and son. “I lost a finger. This is no joke, it’s not a prank,” the actor said, explaining that at the time of the injury, he was attempting to improve his own record by passing a climbing route in less than 14 seconds, reports Baltimore Chronicle, citing Artur Lohai’s Instagram.

Lohai clarified that while trying to press the button to measure his time, his wedding ring got caught on the button, causing a sudden jerk and injuring his finger. As a result, the actor saw his finger “literally tear off and fall down.” In front of his young son, Lova, Lohai descended, retrieved his finger, and rushed to the hospital. “My first thought was: ‘Oh no.’ My second thought was the same: ‘Oh no.’” The actor added that he had a scheduled shoot in a week. Lohai asked doctors to reattach his finger, but due to the traumatic nature of the injury, this was not possible.

Despite the injury, Lohai didn’t lose his sense of humor and urged his followers to donate to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In conclusion, Artur emphasized that anyone engaged in physical activities on sports grounds should remove all jewelry, including rings, to avoid similar injuries. “It was my mistake, but now I know I must always take off my rings,” he summed up.
