The iconic story of the Bride, also known as Black Mamba, is returning to theaters in all her fierce glory. Director Quentin Tarantino will present an extended version of his legendary two-part film — “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair”, which combines “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” and “Kill Bill: Vol. 2”. The nationwide theatrical release in the United States is scheduled for later this year, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to USA Today.
The updated edition, whose trailer was released on November 4, promises viewers not only re-edited scenes but also a completely new animated sequence that has never been shown before. The total runtime will exceed four hours — 281 minutes — including a 15-minute intermission for cinema audiences.
The original films, released in 2003 and 2004, follow the story of former assassin Beatrix Kiddo (played by Uma Thurman), who seeks revenge against her former lover and employer, Bill (played by David Carradine). After he shoots her and takes her unborn child, she embarks on a bloody quest for justice.
The nationwide release of “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair” is set for December 5. Tarantino has previously stated that he plans to conclude his filmmaking career with his tenth film, which has not yet been announced.
At the same time, the director has not ruled out continuing the Kill Bill saga. In 2021, he shared ideas for a potential third film, which could star Uma Thurman and her daughter, Maya Hawke, known from the series “Stranger Things”. Tarantino expressed interest in exploring how Beatrix and her daughter B.B. enjoy twenty years of peace, which is abruptly disrupted, forcing them to go on the run once again.
