AJ believes that the Ukrainian will be able to defeat the “Gypsy King”.
Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua commented on the upcoming fight between WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF world champion Oleksandr Usyk and WBC title holder Tyson Fury .
According to the Briton, the Ukrainian is a phenomenal boxer with an excellent team, which will allow him to defeat the “Gypsy King”.
“I really want to attend this fight. You've probably heard this more than once, but I think Usyk is a phenomenal fighter, and he has a great team around him.
You are only as strong as your team, and Alexander has a very cool team. Having been in the ring with Usyk and studying him, I believe that he will win. I probably think so because I experienced his skill in the ring. I believe that it is at the highest level,” Metro quoted Joshua as saying.
Earlier it was reported that Joshua admitted who he would root for in the Usyk-Fury fight .
The Usyk-Fury fight will take place on February 17, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
The winner of the Usyk-Fury fight will become the first absolute world champion in the heavyweight division in the 21st century.
The last “absolute” in the heavyweight division was Lennox Lewis, who won this status in 1999 when he defeated Evander Holyfield. Back then, the WBA, WBC and IBF titles were at stake. The WBO belt was recognized as equal in 2007, so the winner of the fight between Usyk and Fury will become the first-ever “absolute” heavyweight with four major titles.
