 Historical success: 21-year-old Ukrainian became world champion in swimming

Vladislav Bukhov won gold” at a distance of 50 m freestyle.

The Ukrainian teamwon the first medal at the 2024 World Swimming Championships. Vladislav Bukhov triumphed in the 50 m freestyle.

The 21-year-old Ukrainian showed a time of 21.44 seconds in the final swim. In the fight for gold, he was only 0.01 seconds ahead of the silver medalist, Australian Cameron Makevoy. Briton Benjamin Proud won bronze.

Note that this triumph is historical. Previously, Ukraine had never won gold at the World Championships in the 50 m freestyle.

In general, this is the eighth gold medal in the history of Ukraine at the planetary swimming championships and the first since 2007, when Oleg Lisogor won gold ” 50m breaststroke.
