Beni Makuana will no longer be able to help Polesie in the current campaign.
Polesie winger Beni Makuana will miss the rest of the 2023/24 season due to a serious injury suffered during the match18 round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL)with Rukh.
The 21-year-old Congolese football player announced this on his Instagram page. He also said that he would undergo surgery.
“The examination confirmed that I should have surgery in the coming days. I really wanted to end this season in style, but God did not want it.
I I would just like to thank you for this great season, full of emotions, and say thank you to everyone who supports me. Thanks to all the Ukrainian fans who supported me. See you next season,” Makuana wrote.
Add , that “Rukh” and “Polesie” did not determine the strongest – the match ended in a 1:1 draw. Makuana scored an assist in the first half, and in the second half of the match he was injured and was forced to leave the field early.
This season, the attacking midfielder of the Congo national team played 20 matches for the Zhytomyr club in all tournaments, scored 4 goals and made 3 assists.
Polesie is now in third place in the UPL – Yuri Kalitvintsev’s team is two points behind Dnepr-1 and four points behind the leader Krivbass.
The Zhytomyr team also reached the semi-finals of the Ukrainian Cup, where they will compete with Vorskla.
Polesie will play the next match on March 1 against LNZ as part of the 19th round of the Ukrainian Championship.
