Another Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko completed her performances in the USA.

Ukrainian tennis player Martha Kostyuk made a successful start at the WTA 500 tournament in American San Diego.

In the first round match, the 21-year-old native of Kiev (No. 34 WTA) beat American Ann Lee (No. 167 WTA), who made it into the main draw through qualification.

The match lasted 2 hours 13 minutes and ended with the victory of the Ukrainian in three sets – 6:4, 4:6, 6:2 .

By the way, this was the second personal meeting between the tennis players. This time, Marta took revenge for the defeat in the first match.

In the 1/8 finals, Kostyuk will fight the winner of the duel between Australian Tayla Preston (No. 153 WTA) and Poland's Magdalena French (No. 42 WTA).

We would like to add that another Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko (No. 36 WTA) failed to overcome the first round of the tournament in San Diego, losing to the British Katie Boulter (No. 49 WTA) with a score of 3:6, 1:6.

Another Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya (No. 33 WTA) will begin her performances in San Diego on the night of February 28. She will play against American Caroline Dolehide (No. 45 WTA) to reach the second round.
