Real Madrid and Lunin drew against RB Leipzig and reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League (video)

Carlo Ancelotti's men held on the minimum advantage earned in the first meeting.

Real MadridUkrainian goalkeeper Andrey Lunin drew RB Leipzig in the return match 1/8 finals of the Champions League. The match at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid ended with the score 1:1.

The first half of the game passed without goals. Midway through the second half, Los Blancos took the lead – in the 65th minute, Vinicius Junior fired into the left corner from outside the penalty area after a pass from Jude Bellingham.

Very quickly the “bulls” managed to win back. In the 68th minute, Willy Orban headed in a cross from the left flank from David Raum.

Before the final whistle, the German team tried to score more to send the game into extra time, and even came close to doing so – in injury time, the ball hit the crossbar after Dani Olmo's shot. However, the Madrid team retained the required result.

Lunin entered the starting lineup of the Royal Club and played the full match. The Ukrainian goalkeeper made three saves throughout the game.

Since in the first match Real Madrid won a victory over the Bulls with a score of 1:0, then on aggregate (2: 1) it was the Spanish club that made it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

The draw for the 1/4 and 1/2 finals of the Champions League is scheduled for March 15.

The 2023/24 Champions League final will take place on June 1 at the ” Wembley” in London.
