The Ukrainian youth football team has named the squad for the March Euro 2025 qualifying match

Unai Melgosa's team will play with Azerbaijan on March 26 in Baku.

The Ukraine youth team (U-21)has decided on the team composition for the first matches in 2024. In March, the “blue-yellows” will play a qualifying match for the 2025 European Championship with Azerbaijan, as well as a friendly game against the Olympic team of Morocco.

According to the official website of the UAF, the head coach of the Ukrainian youth team, Unai Melgos, called 24 players to the team.

Composition of the Ukrainian youth team

Goalkeepers :Pavel Isenko (Vorskla), Ruslan Neshcheret (Dynamo), Yakov Kinareikin (Dnepr-1).

Defenders: Ilya Krupsky ( “Vorskla”), Konstantin Vivcharenko (“Dynamo”), Arseniy Batagov (“Zarya”), Artem Smolyakov (“Polesie”), Vitaly Roman, Bogdan Slyubik (both“Rukh”), Vladimir Saluk (Chernomorets).

Midfielders:Egor Yarmolyuk (Brentford, England), Evgeny Pavlyuk (Vorskla), Nazar Voloshin, Anton Tsarenko (bothDynamo), Valentin Rubchinsky, Oleg Ocheretko (both “Dnepr-1”, Alexander Yatsyk (“Zarya”), Maxim Khlan (“Lechia”, Poland), Boris Krushinsky (“Polesie”), Ilya Kvasnitsa (“Rukh”), Ivan Varfolomeev (“Slovan” , Czech Republic), Maxim Bragaru (Chernomorets).

On March 26, Melgosa’s team will play a Euro 2025 qualifying match with Azerbaijan in Baku. Before this, on March 22, the “blue-yellows” will play a control match with the Moroccan U-23 team in Antalya, Turkey.

The Ukrainian youth team is leading in Group F of the Euro 2025 qualifying, three points ahead of England. Melgosa's team won all five qualifying matches for the continental championship.

The Blue-Yellows beat the Northern Ireland team (1:0) and defeated Luxembourg (3:0), dramatically snatched victory over the current European U-21 champion England (3:2), destroyed Luxembourg (4:0) and beat Azerbaijan (1:0).

16 teams will compete in the final part of Euro 2025 (U-21): Slovakia (host of the final tournament) and 15 more teams that will join it based on the selection results (nine group winners, three best runners-up, and three playoff winners for the six runners-up).
