Mikhail came off the bench and brought his team victory.
Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino spoke about the performance of Ukrainian winger Mikhail Mudrik in the 28th round match of the English Premier League (EPL)against Newcastle.
The 23-year-old Ukrainian came on as a substitute in the 71st minute and within five minutes scored a spectacular goal, which helped the “pensioners” beat opponent with a score of 3:2.
“I think it was a very good goal. This is what we expect from a player who came off the bench. Mudryk has to compete with different players on position in which he can play. Will Mudryk be in the starting lineup? This is more a question for him than for me,” the official website of the London club quotes Pochettino as saying.
The goal scored against Newcastle was Mudryk’s fourth in 21 matches of the current Premier League. The Ukrainian also has two assist.
This season, Mikhail played 29 matches for Chelsea in all competitions, scored six goals and provided three assists.
Chelsea is now in 11th place in the league. Premier League, with 39 points after 27 matches. Pochettino's team also has one game in hand.
In their next match, Mudrik and Co. will play Leicester at home in the FA Cup quarter-finals on March 17.
