Johannes Bjo won the Big Crystal Globe for the fifth time in his career.
Norwegian Johannes Bjo won the overall classification of the Biathlon World Cup 2023/24.
The 30-year-old Norwegian biathlete became unattainable for his rivals after the pursuit at the last stage of the season in Canmore, Canada.
Johannes became the winner of the pursuit and increased the lead over his brother Tarjei Bjo to 137 points. Now, even if Tarjei wins the final race of the season – the mass start in Canmore, he will only be able to score 90 points and still not catch up with the leader of the overall classification.
For Johannes, this is the fifth Big Crystal Globe in his career. He previously won the main trophy of the season in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023.
The current Biathlon World Cup season will end on Sunday, March 17. On this day, mass starts will take place at the stage in Canmore. Women will start at 19:10, and men – at 23:20 Kiev time.
