 Kostyuk lost devastatingly to the world's first racket and failed to reach the final of the tournament in Indian Wells

Marta failed to cope with Poland's Iga Szwiatek in her career debut in the semi-final of the WTA 1000 competition.

Ukrainian tennis player Martha Kostyuk failed to reach the finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells (USA).

In the semi-finals, the 21-year-old native of Kiev (No. 32 WTA) lost to the world's first racket to Poland'sIga Szwiatek. The match lasted 1 hour 8 minutes and ended with the defeat of the Ukrainian with the score 2:6, 1:6.

During the time spent on the court, Marta served 2 times right through and made 4 double faults.

This was the second personal meeting between Kostyuk and Shventek. The Ukrainian also lost to the Polish tennis player in the 4th round of Roland Garros in 2021.

It is worth noting that Kostyuk played in the semi-finals of a WTA 1000 tournament for the first time in his career.
