Zhytomyr residents did not were able to break their streak without a win in the first match under the leadership of the new coach.
Obolon beat Polesie on their home field match of the 21st round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL). The match at the Obolon-Arena in Kiev ended with the score 1:0.
Already in the 2nd minute of the match, the Zhytomyr club remained in the minority – the visiting defender Sergei Chobotenko received a straight red card for jumping hard at an opponent's feet during a tackle.
In the 10th minute, the Brewers took advantage of their numerical majority and opened the scoring. Ruslan Chernenko spun the ball into the far top corner with a magnificent shot from outside the penalty area.
No more goals were scored in this match. Consequently, the game ended with a minimal victory for the capital team.
