"Nottingham Forest” lost four points and dropped into the relegation zone.
Nottingham Forestwas deprived of four points in the English Premier League (EPL) for violation of financial fair play rules.
This was reported on the official website of the Premier League.
The club was found guilty of violating the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs) of the Premier League. The independent commission found that the Foresters breached PSRs in the period ending with the 2022/23 season.
The commission found that Nottingham exceeded the ceiling for financial losses over three years by £34.5 million. The loss limit for the club was set at 61 million pounds, and not 105 million pounds, as for other members of the Premier League, since before the 2022/23 season it played in the Championship.
Nottingham Forest have already announced their intentions to appeal the decision to deprive the club of points.
Meanwhile, the Premier League has already officially made changes to the standings. “Lesniki” lost four points and dropped into the relegation zone in 18th place with 21 points. This decision allowed Luton to climb out of the relegation zone with 22 points.
We would like to remind you that Nottingham Forest is the second Premier League club to be punished with points deducted this season. Earlier, Everton deprived Ukrainian defender Vitaly Mykolenko of 10 points for violating financial fair play. However, the Merseyside club filed an appeal, which was partially satisfied and returned 4 points to the Toffees.
