“My daughter accepted refugees”: the coach of the Icelandic national team spoke about the war in Ukraine

Åge Hareide stands in solidarity with the Ukrainians in the fight against Russian aggression.

The head coach of the Icelandic national team Åge Hareide on the eve of the final match of the play-off qualifying for Euro 2024 against the Ukrainian team commented on the war of aggression that Russia continues to wage on our territory country.

A 70-year-old Norwegian specialist expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people and said that his daughter hosted refugees from Ukraine at home.

“As for the war in Ukraine, I’m sorry Ukrainians who are going through suffering.My daughter hosted refugees from Ukraine in her home, and I am sorry that they had to leave their country due to an attack by another state. It’s terrible that this is happening in modern society,” mbl.is quotes Hareide as saying.

The Ukraine-Iceland match will take place on Tuesday, March 26, at the Tarczynski Arena Wroclaw stadium in Wroclaw, Poland. The starting whistle will sound at 21:45 Kyiv time.
