The head of the UAF visited the players of the national team after the victorious game with the Icelanders.
The President of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andrey Shevchenko congratulated the Ukrainian national team on its strong-willed victory over the Iceland team (2:1) and access to the European Championship -2024.
After the final match of the play-off qualifying for Euro 2024 against the Icelanders, Shevchenko visited the “blue-yellow” locker room and gave an emotional speech, reports Suspilne Sport.
“This is incredible. In such a difficult time… Everyone was waiting for this moment. I know that everyone believes in you. I literally received a thousand messages of support. People on the first line (of defense – approx.) defending our country , – you gave them some piece of happiness. So I thank you for that. “You’ve done well,” Shevchenko addressed the team.
Note that in the final tournament of Euro 2024 the Ukrainian team will play in Group E against Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.
The matches of the final tournament of Euro 2024 from June 14 to July 14, 2024 will be held in Germany.
